Rooibos Ltd cuts costs with solar panels

In July this year, Rooibos Ltd installed a 511 kWp SolarWorld solar system on the roofs of its storage facilities in the Cederberg. This system will produce some 40% of the company's electricity, allowing it to provide its suppliers with a product that has a smaller carbon footprint. Says Rooibos Ltd's CEO Martin Bergh: "As a global provider of Rooibos, it is our responsibility to use resources wisely. Clanwilliam has a high number of sunny days per annum. It therefore makes sense to use solar power as a source of sustainable energy. In addition, Rooibos Ltd and its clients will benefit from this solar system for the next 25 years and we will see the financial benefits of this capital investment within seven to eight years."
