Entrepreneur Apiwe Nxusani-Mawela is one of South Africa’s first black female brewmasters who is brewing up a storm in the craft beer industry with her bold plan to create a South African style of beer.
Her brand is called Tolokazi craft beers and ciders. She is using a range of local ingredients like sorghum and South Africa hops to create these unique drinks. We were very pleased to learn that she is also using Rooibos in her products!
Many industry experts have said that she is changing the traditional approach to craft beer by incorporating a taste of Mzansi. A few have also said that they have never tasted Rooibos infused beer before and that it is set to be a success not just in the country, but also abroad.
