The Baccarat Hotel in New York has noted that Rooibos tea is one of the most popular drinks it offers guests on their menu. In their latest newsletter, the SA Rooibos Council spoke to Gabrielle Jammal, a tea sommelier at the hotel about this phenomenon.
She says that although many guests enjoy drinking it as is, she enjoys pairing it with white and nutty cheese, or even chocolate to create a memorable taste experience. Guests often choose crème caramel Rooibos as a dessert tea as a sweet, creamy and totally guilt-free treat, thanks to a smooth-tasting base of caffeine-free Rooibos.
According to Jammal, the hotel also includes Rooibos as part of its popular high tea offering.
