Speaking to eNCA recently, the SA Rooibos Council’s Nicie Vorster said that the demand for Rooibos has increased drastically after the COVID-19 pandemic hit the world. This is likely due to the health benefits Rooibos offers, particularly as it relates to one’s immune system.
Luckily, the local Rooibos industry is well equipped to effortlessly meet the high local and global demand for the tea, according to Vorster.
In the interview, an overview of recent advancements in technology on Rooibos farms was also discussed, which further enables the industry to keep on producing Rooibos for the world.
