Rooibos ‘Aqua’ Martini

1 shot (25 ml) Cinzano Rosso
crushed ice
1 shot (25 ml) Van der Hum or orange liqueur
4 shots (100 ml) cold, strong Rooibos
½ shot (12 ml) Grand Marnier
twist of lemon


1. Pour the Cinzano into a cocktail shaker, add the ice and shake to mix. Add the liqueur, Rooibos and Grand Marnier and shake.
2. Pour into Martini glasses. Garnish with a lemon twist.

Serves 2 to 3


Hot Rooibos Grog
Liquid Chefs for Rooibos Limited

25 ml cognac or brandy
25 ml dark rum
250 ml hot, strong Rooibos
3 whole cloves
3 ml honey
pinch nutmeg
cinnamon stick to serve


1. Heat all the ingredients, apart from the cinnamon stick, in a small saucepan.
2. Serve hot with the cinnamon stick.

Serves 1


Rooibos-Vanilla Ice

Serve this ice with cocktails and home-made lemonade.
Or, blend together with banana, mango, pineapple, mineral water and ginger.
Blended with papaya, orange, lime and hanepoot grapes, it makes a delicious drink.

1,5 litres strong Rooibos
1 vanilla pod, seeds scraped


1. Mix the Rooibos and vanilla seeds together thoroughly.
2. Pour the mixture into ice cube trays. Freeze overnight.
3. Crush the Rooibos ice in an ice crusher. Alternatively, place the ice cubes in a clean tea towel, wrap and crack the cubes with a rolling pin.

Makes about 1,5 litres


Lemon Rooibos Detox Drink
Liquid Chefs for Rooibos Limited

Drink this detox drink first thing in the morning.

15 ml maple syrup or honey
freshly squeezed juice of half a lemon
pinch of cayenne pepper, to taste
250 ml hot, strong Rooibos

1. Stir the maple syrup or honey, lemon juice and cayenne pepper together in a cup.
2. Fill with hot Rooibos. Stir to mix.

Serves 1
